On November 12, four final qualifying matches for the Euro took place, as a result of which all the participants in the final part of the tournament were determined.
North Macedonia outplayed Georgia (1: 0) and thanks to this they will be the first to play in the final part of the European championship. Hungary scored against Iceland in the 88th and 92nd minutes, escaped defeat and made it to the Euro for the second time in 44 years.
Also, the national teams of Scotland (defeated Serbia in a penalty shootout) and Slovakia (won Northern Ireland in extra time, 2: 1) also qualified for the tournament at the last moment. Euro groups now look like this:
Euro 2020 was supposed to take place last summer but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Initially, the tournament was planned to be held in 12 European cities, but the situation with COVID-19 may force UEFA to move the competition to one country.
